A History Of Rumors And Money
Ruminations, inspirations and solid ideas that eventually resulted in the iPhone began in the 1980s, but the real work took place in 2005. Called "Project Purlpe 2" a hand-picked team of Apple engineers worked with Jobs, Apple executives and representatives from AT&T (then Cingular Wireless) to research, design and develop a working prototype.
