Seventy years ago, on January 27, 1945 the Soviet Army arrived at the Nazi's largest concentration camp at Auschwitz, and liberated its surviving prisoners. Between 1 and 1.5 million Jews perished at the camp in World War ll.


Here are some of the chilling images of what the Red Army found when its soldiers liberated Auschwitz. Warning: Many of the images are very disturbing.
