Rescued As A Cub, This Bear Became A Beloved Member Of The Polish Army During WWII


In 1941, when the 22nd Polish Supply Brigade came across a tiny, starving infant cub in Iran, few knew that he would grow into being a beloved member of their army unit.



After being released from a Soviet camp in Serbia in 1941, a group of Polish soldiers were traveling through modern-day Iran, when they came across a small boy who was taking care of an orphaned baby bear. The soldiers saw the terrible condition the infant cub was in and bought him from the boy.
